you install a program into ur computer its kinda like lo jack... if your pc gets stolen you goto the web site and activate it....when the thief logs onto the internet for the first time it gets there IP and alerts you to where it is....
i have heard about it for lap tops never actually been to the web site....
i dont know if the answers to the what ifs ?'s.....
i dont know what happens if they reformat...
