The scariest situation I have been in was when I was scuba diving.
The water temperature was 5 degrees celsius and I started to be undercooled. However we were at 20m deep during a nightdive in a lake where the visibility was less than 2m.
Suddenly, the diving lamps of both my buddy and myself stopped simultaneously and our spares didn't work. This was rental equipment and wasn't charged. Although the lamp meters indicated that they WERE charged. Gross negligence of the diving shop we rent from.
So we were in the total dark and suddenly my buddy and I got stuck in the mud at the bottom (21m) and out of panic he hit my regulator out of my mouth several times. So I had to bring up a very stressed buddy while we were both showing signs of undercooling and in complete darkness.
Not a funny situation.
