They get you high for one. This elevates mood. Sometimes it simple, hedonistic pleasure. Other times it's for meditation or other non-hedonistic intentions. Go look on Erowid and look at their positive drug effects.
Drugs are neither bad nor good. They are objects that are put into play by others. Those who use drugs must exercise responsibility to avoid as many negative consequences as possible. Drugs are not harmless.
Those villifying drugs are not debating, dude, one just ran away without even addressing my point.

Oh, haha, studies? Like that one NIDA page with references you posted before the crash that you didn't understand a freaking word of that I completely annihilated by addressing them one by one?
I agree that drugs are not harmless. But just because one person out of the hundreds of thousands of drug users does something really bizarre doesn't mean it's in anyway typical. And just because some prostitute mom left drugs out and her kid got to them doesn't mean it was all drugs fault and that druggies are doomed to a lifetime of misery because it happened before.
