I do a lot of spearfishing and have seen my fair share of reef sharks. But one day I was following a fish a fish near the bottom. All of a sudden it bolts. It got dark too. Like a cloud passing by over the water. A large tiger shark swam right over me. I'm not sure on exact length but somewhere around 10 feet long.
What really stood out more then it could have took me out without me knowing is the wake it generated as it swam by. It was like standing close to the edge of a corner and having a bus or large truck go past. The amount of air moving is the amount of water that was moving as the shark went by.
I didn't feel like diving for a couple of weeks after that. Now I figure that if that's how I die then it's better then a lot of other ways. And the benefits/fun I get from diving make the risk worth it.
