Sorry it took so long to answer! Didn't catch your post earlier..
I would think sake would be best served either way. But I doubt it would be served piping hot. Pleasantly warm would likely be better. Cold or room temperature sake isn't typically as popular as warm sake, but hey, things change. Warm sake would naturally be better on a chilly day, and cooler sake on a warmer day.
Why? Cuz that's just the way it is. LOL.
