Link to story about Lockheed Martin shooting in Meridian, MS.
You know there used to be a time if a worker said
"One of these days, they're going to (expletive) me off and I'm going to come here and shoot some people." , he would be fired. Especially if he had a history of verbal attacks and problems dealing with fellow employees.
Now,
"Anger Management Conselors" are brought in to
"discuss the person's feelings".
To quote the story,
"Fellow employees also described him as a "hothead" who had used racial epithets and made threats against blacks. Fellow employees also described him as a "hothead" who had used racial epithets and made threats against blacks.
As recently as three weeks ago, some employees complained that Williams arrived at work wearing a white covering over his head that resembled a hood, Sheriff Billy Sollie said. Some employees found the covering offensive because it resembled a Ku Klux Klan outfit."
I'm not against giving someone the benefit of the doubt and a second chance when you have a bad day. I've had several days where I've called the boss impolite names. I know I would hate to be fired for a off-hand comment, but this guy was making threats, and was a time-bomb waiting to go off.
Enough with the counseling, fire people when it comes to this.
...but, then again, that probably would have set him off too.
Anyways, discuss...
