Just a couple of stabs here -
You have a wedding coming? Can you ask that some gifts are cash to put toward the computer?
Or, are you going for a computer science degree from a four year college? Like Battlefield said, there's probably a lot of other coursework that you could get done without a computer. Even if you only have computer classes, I saw my friend write a lot of his programs on paper first. It seemed like the hardest part of his programs were theoretical, and he loved flow charts... Maybe you can become a better programmer if you don't use a debugger as a crutch!
Or, maybe you could take some time off from school. I don't have any kids, but I couldn't imagine work, school, and a newborn at the same time, especially if your fiancée is working too!
