One night as I gazed at the stars, I wished
I wished for a man of my very own
And as I made my wish
The very star I had wished upon exploded
Slowly the light fell to the earth
It twisted and turned, over and over
Softly falling to the ground
Silvery flecks falling around a still form

He lay there struggling to stand
Around him thousands of snowy feathers
In the light of dawn, he rediated softly
Yet with each inch of light he faded
His white clothing was smudged with dirt
Hair tosseled and stringy falling around his face
With a great anguished cry he crumpled to the ground
His body shaking with each sob

Only when he lay still did I approach
Cautiously, as not to startle him
Gently I placed my hand beneath his chin
He slowly turned his angelic face towards me
Gazing through eyes that promised eternal happiness
He spoke to me in a voice only the angels were blessed with
I fell for you to be, with you
You are the one, my only love
