that was SUPPOSED to be one of the original advantages of the cd.....lower manufacturing costs, therefore, lower retail cost. the recording industry decided that THEY could pocket the extra change instead of passing savings to the consumer. then they became uber-greedy and raised prices through the roof to further line their pockets. FILE SHARING? they got what they deserved. *steps off of soapbox*
