I dunno about books... when I was being taught, my teacher just took excerpts from whatever and gave us a 400-page binder every now and then. Cheapest class ever.
But, there's a lot of public domain material by some of the most interesting philosophers (Kant, Kirkegaard, Nietzsche, Hume, etc.), so some looking around on the net will probably yield a lot of material.
