I read this thread and realize that a lot of people have been done wrong by religion, and people supposedly representing Jesus. First off, I point people to what Jesus himself said about his return in the book of Revelation (which, by the way is the english translation of the greek word apokolypsis, thus the concept of an apocalypse) He said that he would be coming back to earth in a physical form that would be recognizable in that he still bears the scars of his crusifixion, but he is coming back in power to gather up his people and to rule the nations with a rod of iron. He will cast satan into the pit for a thousand years, and all on their own the nations will rebel, and then he will judge all of creation, wipe out heaven and earth and create and place a new heaven and earth, and a new jerusalem, and will make his dwelling place with man for eternity. Read revelation for all of the cryptic details. He promised that this race (generation for a less than stellar translation) would not pass from the earth before his return. That means that no matter how hard we try to wipe ourselves out, he's coming before that. Alright, to all of those that are rightfully pissed off at money grubbing, misrepresenting, hateful, judgemental so-called christians, I don't blame you. Right now there is a huge movement all over the world that is drawing christians back to the original ideas that Jesus taught, without all of the man made trappings and requirements, and I would encourage anyone interested in finding out about it to email me. No, I am not looking for converts, and I have nothing to sell. Jesus always dealt with people personally, and ignored what others had to say about the situation. And that is where we have to meet him, so if people claiming to be christians are trying to tell you how to act, tell em to shut up and try reading the bible. If you want to know who Jesus is, read the bible yourself, don't ever just believe what you have been told.
