I agree. At a certain point, there will probaby be a backlash from sports fans pissed off that the rights to something has been sold. Like whatever sponsor finally gets "The World Series presented by shittywebsite.com" or the Super Bowl finally sells out. Or when some really traditional stadium finally gets a corporate name, like Fenway, Wrigley or Yankee Stadium.
And as far as logos on uniforms go, aren't we the only country in the world that DOESN'T do this already? Look at a soccer uniform or a rugby uniform and try to figure out what the name of the team is. It's the O2's or the T-Mobiles or the Siemens or the Strongbows. The team's crest is a teeny patch in the corner somewhere.
Our minor league teams already have a patch or two on the uniforms, particularly in hockey and arena football. It's just a matter of time until the majors do it. I say 5 years.
