Most times the sequels are never as good as the first, not they are bad. Back to the Future for example. The first one is the best in my opinion, and the other two are pretty good.
Othertimes though, some movies should have never gona as far as they did.
Robocop: Excellent movie, one of the greatest of all time
Robocop 2: Good but not as good as the first
Robocop 3: I wanted to claw my eyes out. A robot ninja and Robocop flying. Ughh
The same thing with Tremors. The first one was great, second was kind of crappy and the third was just rediculous.
