Do I think the music industries problems would go away? No, there will always be people unwilling to pay any money for something they can get for free.
Do I think a lot more people would be willing to buy new CD's? Absolutely.
I very rarely buy new CD's these days due to my finances being nearly non-existant, but I am always happy to pick up cheap new CD's ($12.99 or less) when they are released or get used CD's to fill in gaps in my collection. If new releases were cheaper I would buy a lot more of them.
