Here's another option
Maybe just the seasoning to turn any dish into "Hunan"...
Two variations:
Hunan Spice v.1
Ingredients
4 Tbsp toasted sesame seeds
2 Tbsp ground Szechuan peppercorns
2 Tbsp garlic powder
2 Tbsp ground ginger
2 Tbsp dried cilantro
1 Tbsp cayenne pepper
1 Tbsp mustard seed
Preparation
Combine all in a jar and shake well to mix. Use in Hunan Chicken,
Pork, Beef. Makes about 14 Tbsp. Use about 1 to 1 1/2 teaspoons
per 1 1/2 lbs. of boneless meat and 1/2 cup liquid.
Hunan Spice v.2
Ingredients
2 tablespoons toasted sesame seeds
1 tablespoon ground Szechwan peppercorns, or lemon pepper
1 tablespoon garlic powder
1 tablespoon ground ginger
1 tablespoon dried cilantro
1/2 tablespoon cayenne pepper
1/2 tablespoon mustard seed
Preparation
Combine all in a small jar and shake well to mix. Use in Hunan
Pork or Hunan Chicken recipes. (About 1 teaspoon per 1 - 1 1/2
pounds of boneless meat and 1/2 cup liquid). Makes about 7
Tablespoons.
