atleast she invited you for dinner, which means she wants to establish some sort of repoire with you.
Long-term you should try your best to have a good relationship with the mom, blowing her off now would not be wise.
Of course, from the sound of it she might bring a wire tap or set up some sort of sting operation so don't say anything that would incriminate yourself for anything, even unpaid parking tickets : )
