I'd say you probably shouldn't have tried to hide when the mom entered, considering the fact that she knew you were there anyway. Had you just casually sat there, and continued to watch TV, she wouldn't have suspected you two of sex, and might not have reacted so badly. Just some hindsight from my own experiences. Go to dinner with mom though.
