Tools -> Internet Options -> Settings (under Temporary Internet Files) -> View Objects -> Delete everything within the folder.
Once you revisit the site you frequent with the games and chats, they will require you to redownload the Java applet. Do so, and you should be able to get them to work again.
Any chance you have any pop-up stopper (for pop-up ads) installed?
