Well, there's also the idea of where women's logic is focussed. In the example being bandied about here, what's striking to me is what it says about the woman's attention that when it rains she thinks of shoes. However logical the process that gets her from blue to red, that she's thinking about shoes points to a certain femininity in her thinking.
Any man knows, the first think to think about when you see it's raining is the tee time you have for this afternoon!
