I use Sound Forge. I record a lot of DJ sets and un everything out my mixer into my soundcard. I record everything with sound forge and save it as a .wav file. I use a free program called "WAV to MP3 Recorder" I downloaded from www.download.com . It comes with a few programs(its "ad supported"), but you can uninstall the other programs and it works great.
