I strongly suggest getting winter tires for the Mazda3. The Goodyear Eagle RS-A that came with the our Mazda3 get squirrely when it gets cold and a white knuckler when it's cold and wet going down Pottery Road.
Of all the winter tires that suit our driving style, ContiViking Contact3 is an AMAZING winter tire. They are now called ExtremeWinterContact by Continental here in Canada/US.
