Dress For Success. It's a good book and an even better women's organization.
I don't follow fads closely. I don't spend a lot on clothes. I watch color schemes and general cuts of clothes that are highlighted on current television, clothing catalogs, and Elle magazine. I take this knowledge base and figure out my wardrobe within the guidelines I develop. I do my best to put care and effort into my appearance, from hairstyle to shoes. I always try to dress appropriately for the occasion, be it a bikini or a pantsuit. I am nearly always slightly overdressed, but I can adjust quickly by removing makeup or letting down my hair.
In my mind, there is no reason to scoff at all fashion. It is such a multi-faceted arena that everyone will find something that they enjoy, if they are only willing to look.
