The GPA scale is pretty fair as long as the teachers follow it. At my school we count the +'s in our GPA.. so a B+ is a 3.5, a C+ is a 2.5... There aren't any -'s, so a low C and mid-C are the same, but no big deal.. Low C's have to worry about flunking the final and dropping to a D
I am mainly irritated at my old high school. we had the 4point, but we didnt have +'s, and we also didn't get extra points for honors or AP. it was a strict 4 point scale..
it mainly irked me because we ended up with 14 valedictorians in my year. The sad thing, only 2 people up there deserved it. The other 12 didn't take a single honors or AP class, took the minimum number of credit hours, and just made straight A's.
the worst part about it, they made a new level.. AP stayed AP, Honors became Honors Plus, and then the standard class became Honors. To even it out they added another tier of regular classes. Nothing became harder, it just made it easier for the non-academically inclined to skate through school with a good GPA.
why can't I just move to the Netherlands?!?
