Asgardians aren't immortal and omniscient or anything. They're not even as powerful as the Olympian pantheon (arguably), which is notoriously corrupt and fallible.
The movie was okay. I had some trouble overlooking how the Asgardians looked like they were doing cosplay on Earth.
