the only thing i found frustrating about oblivion was the level scaling of opponents: When you're level 1, you'd fight against a level 1 rat; when you're level 20, you fight against a level 20 rat. It was infuriating.
So yah, be prepared for lots of repetitive fighting. But I'm still not sure what combat is better, the repeated hitting of oblivion, the "let me reload to get better dicerolls" D&D combat; the "never miss" button bashing system of DA2, or the lets use VATS to make combat a bit monotonous system of Fallout. They all have good elements, I suppose.
