the longest operation in the world?
From February 04 - 08 1951 Gertrude Levandowski underwent surgery to remove an ovarian cyst. The world's longest operation lasted 96 hours.
Gertrude Levandowski went from a scale tipping 616 pounds to manageable 308 pounds, losing 1/2 her body weight after the cyst was removed.
(I find it hard to believe it was exactly half her weight. It was 308 and not 309 or 307?)
