It seems like some are just "real people", but others seem a little like narcissistic, neurotic attention-hounds. My boss was talking to a local baseball player who knew and went to parties with some hollywood types, and he said they just couldn't get over themselves. Everything was about them and what they have done and how much people love them. Bleh.
