Not trying to 'assign' or label the experience . . just asking the question . . . . . whilst it is patently biological as you say . . . that wouldnt prevent people associating spirituality to it . . . . an intense experience you will agree . . . and (hoping no-one takes offence at this) even celibate and/or virginal priests or nuns are liable to have 'wet dreams' and waken in a state of euphoria . . . which, in the light of their lack of sexual experience might be attributed to a higher force.
And anyway, sex is no more necessary for our evolution than eating and drinking . . and I dont recall such an intense feeling of pleasure last time I had a Big Mac so maybe there is more to it?
