Slims and I also got to watch a guy shoot himself in the boot while trying to holster his pistol, so that was fun, too. The round entered about ankle high and came out on the bottom/side of his heel without touching him. To give you an idea of the crowd: as soon as everyone saw the guy shoot himself, they immediately started talking shit and demanding the shooter be given a procedural penalty. Good times.

To add to the shenanigans a nearby SF medic (who was competing in full kit including armor and aid bag) wouldn't stop grumbling about not getting a day off while he was checking the guy out.
The 'shooter' was politely and discretely disqualified, but encouraged to stay and watch in the hopes that he would learn something.
The match was a mix of military and civilians with a wide range of skill-levels. The RO's/'Instructors' were professional and seemed very competent.
I am now thinking of enrolling my wife in some of their shooting courses while I am away.
The 'infidel' theme is still a bit silly, but the quality of the course of fire made up for it.
