It's my understanding that foods high in sulfur should be avoided: cruciferous vegetables (cabbages, broccoli, many greens except spinach and lettuce, etc.), onions, garlic, asparagus, etc.
Coffee, smoking, alcohol, dairy, and red meat can also change the taste, either making it more bitter or more salty.
Drinking lots of water and eating lots of fruit will help.
So, in general, a teetotaler, green-tea-sipping, non-smoking vegetarian who avoids high-sulfur vegetables and loves fruit should taste better than average.
