My boyfriend, who is from Sweden, has Sigurd as his given name. (I call him my Sig other)
Sigurd is not in very common usage today but is (with variants Sigmund, Siegfried, etc.) a traditional male Scandanavian name. He tells me that in Sweden you call your child anything you want, but must register an "acceptable name" with the government. Which led to this:

Or you could use Jove -different language, same god. The child's personality could be Jovian or Jovial, depending...
