Every family has them. Nonsense words that nobody else uses.
You probably don't even realise they're odd until the first time you use them in front of an outsider and they ask for an explanation.
In my family, for reasons that relate somehow to my maternal grandmothers upbringing a century or more ago, woodlice are called "baggy-stringles".
