My first question was do they really only carry enough food to get in from port to port? I know having fresh things are nice, but am a little skeptical they don't carry more.
If I had a choice I'd say turn the ship into a cheaper open bar or comp drinks and you might find the money lost from alcohol could be cheaper than potential damages suits.
