I'm with you, Fotzlid.
My cell is sitting on my desk at home, plugged into its charger. It is turned on, and I check for messages every couple of days, but just don't use it much, except when traveling.
On my home desk I have a corded landline phone with three cordless extensions. Courtesy of the previous owner, my home also has plenty of phone jacks, so I have cheap corded phones all over the place, including the bathroom, the garage, and both sides of my bed.
I also have a landline at work, with fax, voicemail, and a shared support person who answers incoming and takes messages.
I use my cell to make calls, mostly when traveling, but I rarely receive calls on my cell, and guard my number jealously. My last incoming cell call was from a SAAB mechanic in Ft. Dodge, Iowa. Probably not more than a dozen people/businesses have my cell number. I don't need to be constantly in touch and actually enjoy
being being unavailable to the world at large.
