My friend Mike would spend the night sometimes when I was a kid, and we'd do the usual nerdy stuff: Play video games until the wee hours of the morn. One such night something very strange happened, sometime around 2:00AM.
We'd just finished our last round of Halo and had turned the T.V. off and made the couch into a bed. Immediately after we settled in, there seemed to be an unnatural hush throughout the house, and we both experienced a very acute sense of unease. I felt chilled even though the house was at 75 degrees. Neither of us looked at each other or spoke aloud, though I could tell, looking into the reflection from the blank T.V., that Mike was just as upset as I. We stayed that way, watching the T.V. and glancing down the hallway, for a good 10 minutes. The feeling very abruptly lifted, and I realized that I'd been breathing shallowly the whole time, as I let in a huge breath of relief. I looked at Mike, and he just nodded.
I have other stories also, but I'll let some more people contribute
