Another identifier of a next generation fudd is chastising of cheap equipment. You may see them lightly place their Nightforce wearing Remington 700 in a pelican case, then have them tell you they pay the extra money so they know their gear can survive an IED blast. Of course if you really want to know what abuse your rifle or gear can take you would dish out the abuse yourself, but a lot of people who dig that deep into their budget are too afraid to scratch the equipment. In the end, no matter what military trials it's been through, the best equipment is the equipment you aren't afraid to use and abuse.
