Well, colour me in rainbow if those who oppose gay rights tend to be firmly on the right spectrum.
I'd be happy to be convinced otherwise; I just don't see it. There are exceptions, Cimarron, and you are one of them.
One is totally entitled to basic human rights, equal protection, etc., just don't be gay and in the military, don't be gay and want to get married, and don't be gay and want to adopt children with your gay partner, etc.
Is this a problem that can not be delineated for the most part between right and left?
There are reasons why gay rights tend to be viewed as a liberal cause, aren't there?
