Social norms are one thing, and I'll agree with you that there will be no condemnation of her like there would be if it were a man, as BG suggested.
But...
These are arguably factual claims with demonstrable true/false values. If what she said was demonstrably false, legal matters are entirely agnostic to social norms. I could see demonstrating actual harm too; if I were one of these guys I'd feel pretty harmed.
