Yup, overall impressed. Halo campaign lacks the emotion of some shooters, and Reach is no different, but that's about the only drawback, and it inherent to bungie, i reckon.
Reach looks polished, audiovisually, and in terms of gameplay. Forge and Theater are improved, although I still dislike the clunky Forge/Theater menu sometimes. I like the improved "Friends" tracking and joining up menu system, as well as accessing your profile submenus. Many developers skimp on developing good menu interfaces (use and "ambience"), so I appreciate the effort Bungie put in.
I like the way the challenges are set up, along with the availability of skulls from the start. This is easily the Halo with the highest replayability (for campaign and multiplayer), thanks to the skulls, commendations and xp/credit tracking system.
Firefight is a very fun format. Very difficult for 1 or 2 co-op, but ultimately it is too easy with a 4-man squad. I still think that Gears' Horde mode is superior (to all other offerings from the competition, actually).
My only regret is that the customisable armor is only cosmetic. I would have liked some abilities related to armor, a la Mass Effect 2, or even something similar to Transformers WFC.
