Mecum
At their car auction they recently sold the one and only ever made (factory original) black/black/black '69 Judge convertible for a mere $220,000. I love this auction since they sell so many car that I can actually afford...this was not one of them.
Phrases like “one of a kind” are frequently tossed around in the rush to sell collector cars, but this ’69 GTO is one of the rarest Pontiac production muscle cars we’ve seen cross the block recently.
This triple black GTO Judge convertible, Ram Air III, four-speed is slated to be part of Mecum’s lineup at its St. Charles Auction, at the Pheasant Run Resort, September 16-19. In addition to the Judge’s triple-threat color, powertrain and convertible combination, the car has a wood steering wheel, rally gauges, a hood tach, an 8-track player and redline tires.
The owner holds Pontiac Historical Society documentation certifying the car as only one of 108 GTO Judge convertibles built in 1969 and the only one of its kind outfitted this way.
All of the St. Charles consignments are posted on Mecum’s site, and the St. Charles Auction will be broadcast live on Mecum’s national TV show “Mecum Auto Auction: Muscle Cars & More” on Discovery Communications HD Theater.
