Silicone lube is great for condoms.
Oil based lube is a total no-no. Oil (and grease, fat, etc) degrade the latex VERY fast - if you blow a condom up like a baloon, and rub baby oil on it, it will burst on its own in just a few minutes.
Never use vaseline, body lotion, massage oil or anything greasy on you or your partner before or during condom use.
As snowy says, thinner is not an issue, just be sure that the condoms you use have "certified to ISO 4074" on the packaging somewhere - this is confirmation that they've been tested to a very high standard.
