MagicJack Problems
BEWARE OF MAGICJACK! I purchased a MagicJack with the promise of free long distance calls and the magic of placing calls through my computer. This lasted for a while. Then the company decided to release MagicTalk to a select few people as a Beta test and here is where my problems started. I wasn’t one of the lucky ones to get the program but I was one of the unlucky ones to get the popup demanding the number to activate the program I didn’t get. Now, the story gets better. Since I don’t have this number I cannot get rid of the popup and as long as the popup is there I can’t use MagicJack. I now don’t have MagicTalk and I can’t use MagicJack.
I decided to contact customer support. What a mistake! I had contact with nine or ten different people (technicians?) over a two day period, wasting about seven or eight hours. They all claimed they could solve my problem but when they couldn’t or wouldn’t spend the time, they just disconnected me and I had to start all over again. If you have a lot of time to waste and like the interaction with “technicians” who are clueless, go for it. If you value your time and money, find another way to communicate through your computer.
