Bill Clinton's Current Economic Suggestions
On The Daily Show last Thursday, Clinton came up with a few very interesting proposals that I'm wondering why nobody in the Democratic party thought of them before... Do you think these would work? Or that this should have been done about 15 months ago? Could Bill become President again?

Quote:
1. (focus on) small business, manufacturing, clean energy (I'm guessing he means by giving out tax cuts, getting local projects started, and modifying regulations)
2. Get banks to start lending money they are sitting on
3. Allow businesses and educational institutions to get 0% loans from the banks to make their building more energy efficient, and allow them to pay it off with the utility savings. (They would pay the same rate for a few years, but eventually they would be saving money and it didn't cost them anything, and it creates jobs now)
4. Identify reasons American businesses aren't investing and do something about it.
5. Create a list of jobs that have been vacant for more than three weeks by state and give them the money to train people immediately. And they should be able to do this while they are on unemployment. Give the money to the employers if the community colleges and vocational programs won't do it. Make sure we have qualified applicants for the posted job openings.
