On the company side of my business, 3 or 4 interviews is pretty standard. That's because there's usually multiple people involved in the hiring process. If I were hiring right now (I'm not), there would be probably 4 interviews, maybe a 5th. There would be an intial interview with me for all the folks that had good resumes. Then there would be another round a week or so later for the 2 or 3 that past my scare-em-off speach with me again then another one with my team-mates. Then there would be a final one with HR and maybe one with my boss (under some pretty specific circumstances).
