I have stayed away from this thread until now because I knew I would get sucked in by the lunacy.
What the hell is nano-thermite anyway?
If you don't know then sit back for a moment while I explain:
It is normal thermite, just with really really fine grains. Thermite is basically just Iron Oxide (rust) and aluminum powders mixed together.
So check it out:
How many pictures of skyscrapers being built have you seen where there is *no* rust on the steel girders being erected? Answer: None of them. To make it even better fire drastically accelerates oxidation.
How many airplanes don't have aluminum? Maybe a few pre-dating jet engines.
What do you think might get left behind as a residue when you smash a giant aluminum airplane against a rusty steel girder?
If you said a fine grained aluminum and iron oxide residue you are correct.
If the government had the discipline necessary to orchestrate and maintain secrecy on a large scale conspiracy to kill thousands of American citizens then we would have taken over the world a long time ago. Additionally, Julian Assange would be out of business because there would be no 'leaks' for Wikileaks to publish.
We can't even keep basic secrets, let alone a giant conspiracy.
Sometimes the simplest explanation really is correct, and in this case, to quote from the Onion: "We [Al-Qaeda] crashed a giant airplane into a building, what do you think would happen?"
