Let's think about this. Barry Sanders would have gone down in history as the greatest RB of all time. He was explosive, could stop on a dime, turn, and then accelerate back up to full speed just as quick. If he hadn't had the little spat with the Lions, there would be no way in the world Emmitt Smith would have the career rush yardage record. I can only imagine what Barry's stats would look like if he was still playing.
Today---Ricky Williams is no doubt the most explosive. There may be other more agile, fast, or powerful; but no one can hit and exploit a hole in a line better than Ricky. Just the amount of speed and power that he puts into that first expolsion into the line, makes him the most explosive today.
