I skipped distressed jeans. The hundred dollar washed with a bunch of sharp rocks, torn, and finished with sandpaper look. I do have a couple pair of ten year old, naturally worn, wonderfully soft Levi's. But they are the real thing.
I will admit to washing new jeans a couple of times before wearing them, even with a little Clorox maybe.

I also dislike and don't participate in the faux poverty look in general, or the silly faux prison hip-hop style.
Having been poor, the idea of suburban kids and gentrified urbanites ( who wouldn't be caught dead in a thrift store) spending hundreds of dollars to look poor does not make sense to me.

Sheesh, talk about the high cost of living. It's even expensive to look poor.

If I wear something fashionable, it's likely just because I liked the look of it or thought it would be comfy. If it isn't comfy, I'm not interested.
Comfort rules with me too. And if you're true to yourself, you're always in style.

A fashionista is really nothing but a lemming in clothes.
