lcd fried but old crt works??
i run an older p3 hp pavillion on a geforce 7600gs agp card. i had a westinghouse 2201 lcd the last couple years that went out last week.
troubleshot it and turned out my computer booted up fine on my parents old 15" bubble crt, so figured it's my monitor. i dropped some big bucks for me this week on a new gateway fhd 2401... and it worked perfectly that first night.
then yesterday after noon i got home, booted up, and the same garbled waves of pixels (kind of shimmering white waves) showed up before my westinghouse went black, and now the new gateway lcd even does that when i plug it in the wall by itself!
the weird thing is that i re-attached the old crt monitor again and presto, perfectly works.
so wth? is my card blowing these lcd's? can that happen? and how can an old crt be unaffected but lcd's blow?? are my lcd's beyond repair now?
