Why is it that the major 3 news companies on TV all have just about the same news stories? And why are at least 50% of them about things that do not matter in the overall scheme of things?
I swear if I hear another story about some kid named Kyron (who the hell names their kid that and makes them wear those glasses...) The Balloon boy is another great example... And American Idol...
Where are the news stories about how we are addicted to oil and the consequences of that? Or that the food we eat isn't very healthy and we eat too much of it, which leads to health problems? Or maybe how home flippers were the primary cause of the home crisis?
Riding the Boom - May 30, 2005 ,
Lowering the Boom? Speculators Gone Mild - March 20, 2006 (sure there were some poor people that lost their jobs and defaulted, but it is more likely that one real estate investor who had 10 properties with no ties to any of them would be quicker to get out when the market turned down)
Or maybe how big the national debt is (
U.S. National Debt Clock : Real Time), and how doing nothing will only cause problems in the future...
It just seems like the news what to scare the viewers (this could happen to you or your kid
), but not to tell them that they are wrong and the way they are living is going to cause problems.
