Idyllic

I think it’s really quite a shame
this stupid little selfish game,
you pray here and I’ll pray there
and who we fall prey to we just can’t share.

I think it’s damning
all its own
to say that faith
is for mankind to own
to purchase grace
with favors sold
and years of histories paid
in bloody tolls.

I feel the pain when children cry
when parents push the thorn of religion into their eyes
and force them to bend to preconceived rules
that echo torment in religious schools
of thought without the realities of dreams
and humans untold futures left unseen
causing us to be blinded by emptied faith
we look to each other with shielded eyes
we hear humankinds’ longing cries,
we are one,
we are the same
we share a heart,
blood,
bone,
we share a brain,
we love our children
we mourn our dead,
we hold hands and bow our heads
for each other,
for love,
for life,
to live,
together.

why do we allow religion to continue its’ bindings when we already know we are bound to one another anyways, ties that bind are mankind, are earthbound and only broken by fear, ignorance and violence, imho…….
I just don’t understand why humans can’t stop hating and hurting each other over something so vastly interpreted to supposedly suit the human condition of peace and love, so our books say, it befuddles me.

No building is a “god’s” work….. It is mankind who builds a structure from the earth and labels it their own, but that which is more than we, collectively, cannot be contained within walls……….
not even the walls of our own hearts can contain mankinds love, IMAGINE, I AM a dreamer too, and I truly believe one day, one day, we can be one…….. why not, anything IS possible.
